Backpacking is one of the most immersive outdoor experiences. It combines hiking and camping to create a self-sustaining wilderness adventure. It may seem daunting at first, but with the proper gear and planning, backpacking can be for anyone. To help with the planning process, we are hosting an evening on Tuesday, May 14th with Osprey Packs and Summit Sales NW to provide some insight on how to get started backpacking, ensuring a safe and positive experience.
Topics to be covered:
- How to plan out your backpacking gear list
- How to pack your pack and pack maintenance
- Other tips and tricks
All participants will go home with a free Osprey Ultralight stuff sack, a key piece of equipment to organize your gear on the trail.
There will also be a silent auction benefiting Montana Wilderness Association. It’s a great chance to bid on some great outdoor gear from brands like The Landmark Project, MSR, and Therm-A-Rest.
