Erosion Repair Project | Clarkfork River and Old MT 200

Monday, July 27th, 2020

The Old MT 200 Erosion Repair project will begin on Monday, July 27.
Heavy spring runoff and flooding in 2019 caused significant erosion between the Clark Fork River and Old MT 200 between East Missoula and Bonner near Marshall Canyon Road.
The repair will include removal of the existing structure and replacing it with a new erosion prevention structure. This process consists of anchoring a concrete wall to structural supports in the soil behind it. Portions of Old MT 200 will be replaced as well.
Closure of one lane on MT 200 is necessary to complete this work. A smart signal will be in place to monitor traffic flow and minimize delays. Drivers can expect reduced speeds and delays of up to 20 minutes. Please plan additional time to travel through the area.
More information on the project can be found on the MDT’s project website: https://www.mdt.mt.gov/pubinvolve/oldmt200/
