Essentials for Backcountry Skiing

Transitioning from alpine skiing to the backcountry can be a rewarding but daunting endeavor. To help with the gear learning curve, The Trail Head is hosting an evening with SCARPA and G3 Genuine Guide Gear to delve into the equipment required to transition from inbounds skiing and into the backcountry.

Topics to be covered*:
• Different boot options available
• Choosing the proper skins
• Traditional alpine skis VS backcountry skis
• Basic safety tools required

All participants will go home with a free G3 ski strap, a key piece to your backcountry gear kit.

There will also be a silent auction benefitting Missoula Avalanche . It’s a great chance to bid on some sweet outdoor gear from brands like G3, MSR, Osprey and Therm-A-Rest.
Event is free and refreshments will be provided.
