There was a lot of chatter about El Niño heading into winter this year. Granted we’ve barely entered “official” winter, we are still doing alright. Now is the time to get out and enjoy it. There are many ways to experience the white stuff, the hardcore backcountry folks are venturing out on alpine touring and telemark gear, digging pits, and cruising down the glades.
The snow is more accessible than you think. A short drive away (20 minutes from downtown) you have kilometers of groomed trails. Split between Pattee Canyon and the Rattlesnake Recreation Area you can mix it up a little.
What if you don’t have your own gear? Use ours, we have a well-stocked rental area with several different cross country ski options, plus if you want a simpler way to travel we also offer snowshoe rentals. You can rent a cross country setup starting at $16 (it gets cheaper for multi-day rentals) so why not treat yourself to the quiet beauty we are lucky to live so close to? And if you love it, we have the same equipment for sale. And we’ll even apply two rentals towards your purchase.
