The folks over at The Trail 103.3 have put together a a great set of races coming this summer. This will be the second running of the Trail Rail Run (pun intended!) This race has something for everyone with distances of 50 miles, 50K, 30K, and 12K. Utilizing the decommissioned rail-beds of the Northern Pacific and Milwaukee these are gentle grades and they offer outstanding views.
The Trail Head is excited to sponsor the 50 mile race this year. All 50 mile racers that cross the finish line receive a Patagonia Houdini jacket! The 50 mile is now capped at 75 racers. If you are not familiar with the Houdini you should be, it is one of my most versatile running pieces. I can leave before first light with a base layer and Houdini jacket and when it starts to warm up it packs down to fit in the palm of my hand or shorts pocket. I’ve run in rain, snow and wind and have been very comfortable. If you don’t own one and want to run a beautiful course that begins in Mullan Idaho and finishes in St. Regis it’s a great bonus for a hard days work!
