Description

A scenic hike to a high mountain lake away from the heavily used lower Rattlesnake. This trail winds through a variety of environments including an area burned from a wildfire 2003, forested areas, a creek, open ground, and alpine forest. The trail leads up to Boulder Point at 7100 feet which overlooks Boulder Lake.

Directions

East of Missoula, from U.S. Highway 200, take the Gold Creek Road #126 north. Take Forest Service (FS) Road #2103, then travel to the end of FS Rd # 4323 to the trailhead. The trailhead serves as a jumping off point for both the Boulder Lake Trail and West Fork Gold Creek Trail.
