Transitioning from alpine skiing to the backcountry can be a rewarding but daunting endeavor. To help with the gear learning curve, The Trail Head is hosting an evening with SCARPA & G3 Genuine Guide Gear to delve into the equipment required to transition from inbounds skiing and into the backcountry.
Topics to be covered*:
• Traditional alpine skis VS backcountry skis
• Different boot options available
• Choosing the proper skins
• Basic safety tools required
All participants will go home with a free G3 ski strap, a key piece to your backcountry gear kit.
There will also be a silent auction benefitting Missoula Avalanche. It’s a great chance to bid on some sweet outdoor gear from brands like SCARPA, MSR – Mountain Safety Research, Therm-a-Rest and Osprey Packs
Event is free and refreshments will be provided.
