The Bitterroot Cross-Country Ski Club does a fantastic job grooming and maintaining the trails at Chief Joseph Ski Area, not to mention the Gordon Reese cabin. On a volunteer basis too. The club also built the cabin out of pocket, and as a fundraiser the club used to raffle off a night in the cabin until the Forest Service put the cabin in their rental registry. After doing so the club lost the ability to raffle the night at the cabin. Luckily the club stays committed to the area trails, as well as the cabin.
The club pays for the gas to run the grooming sled, as well as other expenses, and without the cabin raffle they have reached out to local businesses to fill the void. This year the club offers a unique raffle, this raffle features six different prizes and you can allocate your chances however you like. Chances are $5 each and you can put all on one prize or spread them between a few.
The prizes are as follows: 1) A night at the Triple Creek Ranch 2)Bob Ward XC ski package 3) Six restaurant dinners for two 4) Trail Head 7-day raft rental 5) Chico Hot Springs night for two 6) REI 3 season backpacking tent.
